I am Janelle (or Nelle), the artist behind Nelle Studios. I'm a freelance artist based in Canada. And that cute loaf pictured on the table is Emma, my late studio assistant, whose memory (and fur) lives on through my paintings. ♡

My principle theme has always been flowers and skulls however I've never really stuffed myself in a box to one specific style. I allow myself the freedom to continuously explore and experiment with all the things.

Currently I am working on hand piped art using cake decorating techniques to bring more dimension into my work and creating “forever” bouquets. I've loved painting and cake decorating simultaneously for many years, and I look forward to seeing where this new direction will take me in my artistic journey.
